My name is Caner. I work as a Research Assistant at Kırıkkale University (a small city near the capital Ankara) in Turkey. I have been teaching CAT tools for five years . Upon Filip's kind request, I would like to touch on my experiences and the result of my study here.
I carried out an experimental study with undergraduate level translation students. I investigated the attitudes of translation students towards CAT tools (using Memsource). To this end, I developed an attitude scale and applied it before and after Memsource training. I compared the scores of pre-test and post-test and found out that after Memsource training students' attitudes towards CAT became more positive. I understood that the students realized the benefits of using a CAT tool and this made them much more enthusiastic about learning translation technology.
