LQA Profiles

When evaluating content quality, different rules may be required for different content types or clients. Some content may need to have precise terminology and others may need to follow locale convention or be precise with target length and markup. Errors may also require different severities or assigned weights.

LQA profiles are assigned when setting up the workflow for a project.

Use Case:

  • Marketing texts don’t require literal translation while legal texts should be very precise. Marketing content could be assigned an 0.5 weight to Omission errors but legal text could have a 2.0 weight assigned to the same error.

Create an LQA Profile

Administrators and Project Managers with unlimited user rights can customize types of Language Quality Assessment warnings applied in projects.

To create an LQA profile, follow these steps:

  1. From the Setup Setup_gear.png page, scroll down to the Quality section and click on Language Quality Assessment (LQA).

The Language Quality Assessment page opens.

  2. Click Add profile.

The Errors and their importance page opens.

  3. Provide a Profile name.

  4. Select error categories/subcategories based on the harmonized DQF-MQM typology and indicate importance by adjusting weights . The default weight is 1.0.

  5. Assign Penalty points per severity.

These are used in scoring translations and are multiplied according to the error's weight. Recommended penalty values are 0 - Neutral, 1 - Minor, 5 - Major and 10 - Critical.

  6. Provide a Pass/Fail threshold.

  7. Click Create profile.

Profile is added to the LQA profiles table.

Profiles can be edited, assigned as default or duplicated from the menu to the right of the profile name.
