Paligo, a content authoring platform, has launched a beta version of its integration with Memsource. This allows users to directly send content created in Paligo into Memsource and (more importantly) receive it back afterwards to update the existing content.
Paligo integration, similar to other 3rd party systems connecting to Memsource, uses the APIs and therefore it is subjected to the daily API call limitations. The first iteration is still in BETA phase, therefore the features and configurations may be subject to change.
In this BETA, it is currently not possible to generate projects in Memsource via the Paligo integration. In order to translate the content in Memsource, users need to create a project first and then insert the project ID into the Integrations section of their Paligo account. This means that all the content sent for translation will be submitted into this one specific project.
To translate your articles, there are 2 conditions to be met (apart from the content being already stored in your Paligo account):
- The languages for translation need to be added to the content itself
- Status of the "article" needs to be set to In translation
When these conditions are met, users can click on the desired target language code, choose Export translation option. In the list of possible export formats, Memsource will be available as one of the options. It is therefore not necessary to download or extract any content as actual files, the integration will directly import them as new jobs into the designated Memsource project.
Translation can then follow the standard workflow of the project. Once the content is translated, users can choose to Import translation directly from Memsource which will update the the translation section of Paligo UI.
