List Jobs by Project - meaning of 'paging' params

Martin Hanzalek Dec 21, 2016 03:04PM CET

Hi, how to understand the new paging model on Jobs result on 'api/v8/job/listByProject' endpoint?

API returns a paging info in following form:

"paging": {
"total": 1,
"page": 0,
"pages": 1

How should we understand it?

Does it mean, that there is total 1 page and the result is the first (counted from 0) page?
What does then the third parameter 'pages' mean?

Please clarify on the meaning of paging params, thanks a lot.
We want to be sure we are using the results correctly and not to miss some important detail. Martin.

Dear Martin,
Yes, the result says that there is a total of 1 pages and that the results shown apply to page 0 in this case.
So “page” is where you are and “pages” is the total number of pages.
The results are always shown by 50 items, so you can see something like:
“paging”: {
“total”: 100000,
“page”: 0,
“pages”: 2000

Hi Vaclav, I'm sorry, don't get it.

In your example:

is it that there are 100.000 pages at total and I'm on the 1st one? What does the 'pages': 2.000 mean then?

Or is it that there are 2.000 pages at total and I'm on the 1st one? What is total: 100.000 then?

Hi Martin,
“Total” means total items or entries, not total pages. Does this make sense?
