APIs for all Editions

Last Updated: Nov 27, 2017 02:59PM CET
Memsource API is necessary to integrate Memsource with any 3rd-party software. Previously, API was only available to our Ultimate and Unlimited editions customers. We are now extending the API to all paying customers (this excludes the free Personal edition). The Ultimate and Unlimited editions will continue to offer unlimited API calls to its subscribers. All other editions will enjoy full API functionality but with a daily limit on API calls which we will start enforcing during March 2016:
Edition Max. API Calls Daily
Ultimate & Unlimited No limit
Team & BIZ Team 2000
Team Start & BIZ Start 1000
Freelancer 500
Personal 0
  • How API calls are counted
Please note that an API request can be mapped to multiple API calls in Memsource and in such a case each of these calls is counted separately. For example: If a request uses up 5 API calls, an organization subscribed to the TEAM edition can submit such requests 400 times a day before reaching the limit (400*5=2000).
  • Exceeded limit
Once the limit of the API calls was reached, no further calls will be accepted by the system.
  • Actions consisting of multiple calls
The system will only accept calls received before the daily limit was exceeded.
For example: An  organization uses 5 calls to perform certain action and the completed action would have used 2002 calls. If such situation occurs, the system will only accept the 2000th call and the action would remain uncompleted.
  • Which edition to choose with 3-rd party integration?
Integration between Memsource and 3rd-party systems (XTRF, Plunet and other similar systems) or other systems via the APIs need to take into account the limitations of the edition of Memsource they have subscribed to. The limit might be exceeded in the middle of a workday and no further calls will be accepted by Memsource. In case the limit of calls is insufficient, users might choose to upgrade to one of the Ultimate editions where no limitations are set by the system.
  • What is not counted towards API limits?
Some of the components of Memsource Cloud directly use APIs, but these are integral parts of the system and are not counted towards these limits. These include:
    • Memsource Editor
    • Memsource Mobile App
    • Connectors
